FORT WORTH – Season-opening games are strange sometimes.

Such was the case Friday night when Centennial and Saginaw Boswell faced off at Pioneer Stadium.

Tuesday, Centennial's tennis team kicked off District 9-5A play with a 17-2 victory at Crowley. The next district match is Tuesday at home against Cleburne at 4:30pm.

Playing at the Midlothian Heritage Invitationa, Burleson's volleyball team went 2-1 in pool  play. The Lady Elks defated West Mesquite, 25-16, 25-15, and Venus, 25-8, 25-7.
