There was plenty for Burleson’s girls basketball team to be thankful about on Thanksgiving day after the Lady Elks won the Lake Country Christian Tournament last Monday and Tuesday.

The final two games before the Thanksgiving break were good tests for Centennial’s girls basketball team.

The Lady Spartans are gearing up for the District 9-5A opener Tuesday at Joshua.

Defense was the name of the game Saturday when Burleson downed Alvarado, 70-22, in a non-district road game.

Centennial baseball player Thomas Santos recently signed a letter of intent to play baseball at McLennan Community College.

Lawrence Eugene Wynne was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Ricon New Mexico, and passed Oct. 30, 2016, in Joshua Texas.
